How to 'Save and Schedule' reports

2min

Introduction

Suppose you are looking to send metrics once or regularly automatically. Great news! Our BI tool allows you to save reports, both custom and out-of-the-box views) to your teammate's inboxes without requiring Looker logins for your teammates.

The default timezone in Looker for OMS timestamps is UTC, whereas the OMS UI displays EST.

Within Looker, we've added additional timezone options for some of our timestamps but not for Order Approved Date. Custom time zones can be created with a custom field and can be submitted as a feature request.

Share your report once

The platform empowers you to share with others your data analyses or visualizations with options. Let's select a dashboard that you have previously saved. To open the Scheduler from within a folder or subfolder, find the folder or subfolder containing the dashboard you want to deliver, and click on the ellipsis. Select Schedule delivery

Schedule your recurring report

Looker lets you share your dashboards with your stakeholders to facilitate discussion on the results and identify the next steps on a recurring basis.

You can perform the same steps as above to access your report and locate the Scheduler, but in the Schedule Delivery form, under Recurrence select how often you'd like to share that dashboard with your peers.

You can select the time of the day based on different time zones, add notes, and select to re-arrange your dashboard tiles in a single column.

Click on the Advanced Options tab to select what fits your business the most!

Do not forget to click Save!
