We need your Shopify store to enable one additional permission, called read_users, for the Chord app installed on your store. Enabling this requires a request to Shopify Support. This page outlines exactly what to ask for.

We're adding new point-of-sale data to your reporting, including which sales associate handled each in-store sale. Pulling that information requires access to Shopify's staff data, which sits behind a restricted permission called read_users.

Shopify doesn't grant this permission automatically. It's only available to stores on Shopify Plus or Advanced, and Shopify Support has to turn it on manually for each app. If you're on Shopify Plus, you qualify. The remaining step is asking Shopify to enable it.

Requests like this tend to move faster when they come directly from a store admin or owner, so we'd like to ask that person to submit it. Here's how:

Note: You shouldn't need to give Shopify a detailed technical spec. The scope name and the general use case above should be enough for them to process the request.

Once Shopify confirms the scope is enabled on your store, let us know. We'll take it from there and finish connecting the point-of-sale data on our end.
